Hello- I am visiting the last week of Sept.  I enjoy arts, culture, history and sporting events.

I am not really a huge fan of the parks and shopping will I have anything to do even an hour so away??? I will make the obligatory visit however.

Suggestions welcome - otherwise I will sit poolside for a week!

Hello KTG,

I just found this site and read your comment & wanted to offer some insight to your entertainment questions, and as a Poinciana resident myself I thought I could be of some assistance! In the Central Florida area there are many well known tourists’ attractions (Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld you get the picture). What many people don’t know are all the lovely things Central Florida has to offer, for example Downtown Orlando has a really great interactive science center, not far from there in Maitland you must try The Melting Pot, which is a fondue based restaurant, very eclectic and off the beaten path, there are also many antique shops within about 60 minutes of Poinciana (downtown Kissimmee, Collage Park, Winter Park & Winter Haven just to name a few), there is also a Zoo in Sanford as well as a beautiful historic district off the St. Johns river that is a must see! Well, I don’t want to bore you with my idea of a good time so I will let it go at that but feel free to respond back if you have any questions or are in need of any more tidbits!

Enjoy your vacation,

Mom
