Head on collision closes Marigold Ave and Palmetto St.

A head on collision in front of the Dollar General at the intersection of Marigold Avenue and Palmetto Street forces closure of the roads while Polk County Fire and Rescue clear the scene.

Multiple units responded to the event which also happen to occur during a rainy and dark evening. Not helping the situation, the entirety of the event happened during the heaviest of peak traffic time for commuters returning home from work.

Those living in Village 7 or 8 had it the worst, as most know Marigold Avenue is virtually the only way in and out of those villages. With Laurel closed due to construction, just getting home was delayed significantly.

The scene wrapped up around 7:30 pm, after many departments assisted, including Polk County Fire and Rescue, Polk County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol. Please drive safe out there Poinciana and arrive alive.
