Pick up a free turkey for Thanksgiving at one of these local events.

There are a few events happening this Friday and Saturday where your family can pick up a free turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner. All are very close to the heart of Poinciana, Florida. On Friday, November 17th, 

Orlando Family Physicians is hosting The Great Turkey Giveaway. This event is for our Poinciana neighborhood seniors. Hurry in to take home a free Thanksgiving turkey! But wait, that's not all! Canned goods and groceries will also be provided. Giveaways are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meet at the Poinciana Office. The fun begins at 3 pm.  Their address is 920 Cypress Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34759. You can also see more information about this event by clicking here.

** Limit one turkey per household. Ages 64 or older only

Next up is on Saturday, November 18th and is very close to Poinciana, as well as, open to everyone. From 9 am until 10:30 am, the Polk County Sheriff's Office partnered with The Freedom Tour will be handing out free turkeys. Deputies will hand out the frozen birds, which are in the 15 to 17 pound range.

The event will be located at Church on the Hill, 1111 Scenic Hwy, Dundee. Cars will be directed to enter the parking lot south of the church from Old Scenic Hwy, then will be directed around the back of the church to the distribution point. Cars will then be directed to exit north onto Old Scenic Hwy towards Dundee. For more information about this event, click here.

Also on Saturday, November 18th the TDP church has 250 free turkeys to giveaway. The event starts at 9 am and runs until supplies run out.
