Poinciana survives

October 11, 2024

Poinciana stayed strong against Hurricane Milton. Coming in at a category 3 and leaving as a 1, Milton left many fences down. The eye of the storm came through Poinciana at approximately 1:30 am. Some are still without power, as Duke Energy quickly reacts. Cell phone service is still having difficulties in some parts of Poinciana. Most of the local shopping areas have returned to normal operating hours. Schools in both Osceola and Polk are still closed, returning to normal on Tuesday, October 15th. As Monday, October 14th is a holiday.
